(Rochester, NY) – The Voice of the Martyrs’ (VOM) Advance Conference is coming to Greece Assembly in Rochester on Saturday, October 19, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This is a free event; doors will be open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To register, visit www.vomadvance.com and click on “Rochester, NY” or call 800-747-0085.
At the VOM Advance Conference, speakers from around the world share personal testimonies about God’s faithfulness in the midst of persecution. Attendees come to learn how God’s kingdom is advancing, even in the face of fierce opposition. They also will have ample opportunity to meet persecuted Christians face to face, and find ways to get involved through the booths that are available for the duration of the conference. Greece Assembly is located at 750 Long Pond Rd., Rochester, New York 14612.
One of the four keynote speakers is Sarah Liu from China, whose unapologetic Christian faith ultimately led to her arrest, torture and imprisonment for over six years. Reflecting on what she went through during that time, she said, “I thought of Christ being beaten on the way to the cross. He suffered for me and in a small way I shared in that suffering for Him. It gave me courage to survive my time in prison.”
The other keynote speakers are Dan Baumann from Youth with a Mission (YWAM), who was arrested on false charges in Iran and spent nine weeks in that country’s most notorious prison, Brother Bennie from India and Todd Nettleton, host of VOM Radio. The music and worship time will be led by Gilbert Hovsepian, from Iran. Gilbert faced persecution and numerous violent threats after his father, Rev. Haik Hovsepian, was martyred.
