JC’s Christian Bookstore is a resource for Christians, Churches, Homeschoolers, and anyone seeking Truth. Being the only bookstore in the area, they serve as a beacon of hope and love to the region.

Owner Joel Evans’ heart is for his community and to share the love of God to everyone he can.   “It’s a great job. We see all types of people with different needs. We are here for the community.  The store keeps us in touch. It gives us a pulse of the local needs. The ministry is not just selling items, it is developing relationships with our customers and helping them. People come for encouragement. We pray with them and just listen to them. We try to make a difference” Evans said. This is evident in JC’s customer feedback, which is filled with positive reviews. One customer said they are “very happy and satisfied with the store and customer service.” Another customer said, “We’re glad you’re here.”

Mr. Evans attributes his journey to starting this store to, “just God.” He says, “This was nowhere in the plan. It seemed like there was a need. I opened the first store in 2008, expanded in 2011, and then again in 2015 to our current location. We are practically the only bookstore in 5 counties or more.” Now 10 years later, Evans looks back on this journey. “This is an emotionally satisfying job. We have more great days than bad.” Evans especially enjoys “when people have questions about God and scripture.” He says, “I may not know all the answers, but I can direct them to good resources.”

Everyday Mr. Evans’ goal is to “help churches and individuals spread God’s word throughout the region. A simple gift with a Bible message can help.” Evans explains that sometimes just a card can open the door to evangelism. If someone has a heart to share God’s love, but doesn’t know where or how to start, a simple gift could be just the thing to start a conversation. It’s an easy ice breaker for a shy person to evangelize.
