Master Peace Quartet In Concert On December 7

Master Peace Quartet In Concert On December 7

By Joyce Spamer

Southern Gospel NY is very excited about bringing for the first time to the Rochester area a group of men from the state of Georgia called Master Peace Quartet.

They will be joining us on December 7, 2019 for a concert at Grace Church of the Nazarene 2924 Union Street South, Rochester, New York 14624.

Master Peace Quartet began from the desire of three friends to uplift their Lord and Savior, Jesus in song. Anthony Patton, Bill Worley and Barry Minish have been friends longer than either one wants to admit. Anthony and Bill sang together in another quartet several years ago and Barry was the Business manager for that group. In late 2013 and early 2014 they began contacting others to sing the baritone and tenor parts. They contacted an old friend of Bill’s Brian Morse for the baritone part. On April 26, 2014, the first concert for Master Peace Quartet (MPQ) was held at Olivia Baptist church in Dalton, GA.

2016 was a great year for MPQ seeing Gods people encouraged, moving closer to the Lord and souls saved. MPQ was honored to receive Crimson Music Award Quartet of the year at Gospel fest in Dalton GA. God opened doors to allow MPQ to sing a weekend in Maryland and a weekend in Pennsylvania.

2017 has picked up right where 2016 left off, God is opening many doors for MPQ. MPQ was blessed and honored to open for Karen Peck and New River, Brian Free and Assurance, The Mighty Kingsmen, The Martins and Jason Crab at Gospel festival 2017. MPQ also received another Crimson Music award for Contemporary Quartet of the year. Contemporary due to the unique arranging of some of their songs. MPQ was invited to the Alabama Quartet Convention.  MPQ was part of the Southern Sacred Sounds Concert at Camp Jordan Arena with the Greesons, The Hullender Family, and The Ball Brothers. 2017 Ended with MPQ being blessed to be a part of down home Christmas with Karen Peck and New River, The Isaacs, and Jason and Adam Crab along with many other artists.  The main thing was MPQ saw the Lord move in people’s lives. Several were saved and many encouraged during 2017. We just want to be used by our Lord and Savior.

The Lord continues to open doors in 2018 Easter Weekend MPQ was with the Anchormen, Gold City, And Appointed Quartet at the Colonnade in Ringgold, GA. MPQ has just finished a new project and it is now available on their web site at www.masterpeaceqt.com.

Lead – Anthony Patton

Anthony has been singing and playing in church most all of his life. He comes from a rich heritage of singers, musicians, and preachers. Anthony was saved at the age of 7 on a Sunday morning. He says “I was just a young child but I was old enough to know that I needed the Lord in my life.” As he grew older his love for singing and ministering thru song grew stronger and stronger. Today it is the one thing he loves to do more than anything. Singing praises to God and worshiping with His people. Anthony and his wife, Amanda, of 27 years have 2 children a daughter, Morgan Patton, their son and daughter in law Caleb and Tanya Patton.

Tenor – Brian Etheridge

Brian has been singing for about as long as he can remember. Being the son of a Baptist preacher he grew up in church and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the early age of 7. Always loving music, he began singing at church in the choir, solos, duets, and even “scrap iron” quartets. He has always had a love for true harmony. He traveled regionally with an all a cappella quartet for approximately 8 years. Brian has known Bill and Anthony for almost 20 years, and was asked to be a part of MPQ in August 2014. Brian has been married to Nena, his high school sweetheart, for 30 years.

Bass – Bill Worley

Bill began singing Bass for an all male quartet at the age of 16. However, his desire to sing for the Lord began many years before that. As a 6 year old boy he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. As a young boy, while listening to his cousins the Smith Family sing, he would often wish he could sing Bass like Jack Smith his childhood Hero. His lifelong dream is to be a small part of something exactly like MPQ. If you talk to Bill very long, and if you talk to him at all it will be long, you will know he loves the LORD and loves singing praises to his name. Bill is the husband to Maryann of 36 years. A father to one son Chase and “Pops” to his grandson Gus.

Baritone – David Hill

David gave his heart to the Lord while attending Vacation Bible School.  He really fell in love with Gospel music in the mid – 90’s when he saw Gold City in concert, right away he knew he wanted to sing in a quartet. The Lord has used David in ministry directing church choirs and serving in various pastoral roles over the past thirty years. David and his wife Kristen have six children, Lauren, Garrett, Byron, Alaina, Michael, and Aaron. David has the very best job a person could have; he is a stay at home granddad. He takes care of their granddaughter Ashlyn.

The Concert will begin at 6:00 PM and there is no ticket needed but we will be receiving a $10 donation at the door to help cover the expenses of their ministry. For more information you may call 585-329-3840.

We look forward to a great night of Christian fellowship. There will be a Meeting and Greet Cookie Reception after the concert.
