By Steven P. Galvano
Every year, senior pastors from all over the world are invited to RCCM, expense free, for the World Ministry Conference. The simple purpose of this conference is to encourage, uplift, and affirm these pastors so that they may continue their works in their corners of the world. The God-inspired vision for the World Ministry Conference was given to Stephen Galvano in 2000 while on a plane heading to Africa for a crusade. The Lord said, “Invite these servants of God to your home.” The World Ministry Conference was born. Now after many years, we can truly say the WMC has touched the nations. The testimonies are endless on how this conference has
“Rekindled the fire within” for many international pastors who were ready to give up. With the spark they receive here in Rochester, New York, these pastors return home and spread the fire across their nations. We believe that all this is just the beginning. Partner with us as we continue to follow this great vision.
“Everyone should see what is happening here,” “I’ve become hopeful,” “My life and ministry are forever changed,” “this ministry is touching the world,” “This conference will change your life.” These are just a few of the many testimonies given by senior pastors that have attended the World Ministry Conference in Rochester, New York.
Since its inception in 2001, nearly one thousand senior pastors from 54 nations and 6 continents have come to RCCM, expense free, for this conference.
“I was on a plane headed to Africa for a crusade,” says Stephen Galvano, senior pastor of Rochester Christian Church Ministries (RCCM), “God spoke to me and said, “Invite these servants of God to your home” and the World Ministry Conference was born. Our goal is not to teach these pastors or make them a part of our denomination. Our goal is simply to encourage, uplift, and affirm them so that they might continue their works in their corners of the world.” “It has been amazing to watch,” says Galvano “The spark they receive here has caused a blaze in many cities. We are now in our 7th year, so we can clearly see how the World Ministry Conference (WMC) is impacting the world.”
Up to 100 volunteers, many of which take off the week from work to help, all pull together to make the annual WMC possible. The vast majority of volunteers are RCCM members. “It’s a logistical puzzle” says the WMC staff (in unison) “We have to think about transportation, hotels, food, communications, and the individual needs of up to 200 people, many of whom speak different languages. We also provide live translation for all who require it.” Galvano interjects: “When the busses arrive at the front doors of RCCM every day and the many different people, cultures, and ideas come filing in, it is well worth it. It is a sight to behold…it’s God!”
“My life and ministry started at this conference” says Bishop Elisha Juma of Mombasa, Kenya. He has attended each WMC since 2001. “My church now has thousands of members, and I have a large building in the heart of the city. I attribute this to the hope that I found here through daddy Galvano and the World Ministry Conference.”
