(Rochester, NY) – Every September the Spamers of Southern Gospel NY go to Pigeon Forge, TN for the National Quartet Convention (NQC). They have been doing this now for 7 years and have blessed a lot of people by holding concerts in the Greater Rochester Area.
At the convention they get to hear all the well-known groups and they also get to hear many of the new upcoming groups. Because of the cost of the more well-known groups, the Spamers love bringing in the not so known groups. And because of this, a lot of these groups are becoming very popular in the Rochester, New York area.
Some of the groups they have found at the NQC Convention are groups like – 4One Quartet, Souls Harbor, The Lore Family and many others. All have been a real blessing to everyone that has been attending the concerts over the past few years. Groups also travel from as far as Canada like the #1 Canadian group called The Torchmen and another excellent group called Heading Home, have also been to Rochester over the years.
The Spamers are very thankful to the churches in the area that have opened their doors and allowed them to use their facilities. Churches that have been a blessing are United Methodist Church of N. Chili, Park Ridge Free Methodist, Grace Church of the Nazarene, Bay Knolls Seventh Day Advent, Cornerstone Bible Church and Spencerport Bible Church.
“It has been a lot of hard work” said Joyce Spamer. Her husband Bob states that it has always been a desire of his to bring Gospel Music in the area and although most of the expenses are paid by the Spamers, they feel they are doing what God has called them to do.
It was exciting to learn that Southern Gospel NY, the Spamers, were awarded the Promoter of the Year 2018 this past September at the NQC Convention.
There are a large number of promoters across the United States and because New York is not big in this genre of music, it makes it even more excited that the Southern Gospel Promoters Association would give this award to the Spamers.
“If you have never been to one of these concerts you are truly missing a real blessing” say Joyce and Bob Spamer. Southern Gospel NY has 2 dinner/concerts a year and their last one was held at The Cornerstone Bible Church this past October 20th. The Hyssongs were also awarded Artist of the Year for 2016. Along with the Dinner/Concerts they also have from 2-6 regular concerts. Be sure to check out their web site at www.sgny.net or contact them at email@example.com for a list of concerts coming in 2019.
